Dear customer, Engineers Computer Lab always puts customers first. To give fast and correct service we follow a few rules. Please read these terms before you buy.
Who gives the warranty
The warranty announced at the time of sale is the manufacturer's (brand's) warranty. The brand or its importer is responsible for the warranty service, and each brand publishes its own terms on its official website. Engineers Computer Lab works between the buyer and the manufacturer / importer and helps the buyer get the warranty service. We follow international, local and Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) warranty rules.
Warranty terms
- To claim warranty, bring the product to our shop (service center) or send it by courier.
- Many products get warranty service within a short time, and some are replaced as soon as the complaint is received.
- Not every product has a warranty. Warranty applies only to products for which the manufacturer announces a warranty period.
- Laptop warranty is 1 to 3 years depending on brand and model, but the battery and adapter of every laptop have 1 year warranty.
- If a product under warranty is found faulty, it is repaired, or depending on the product it may be replaced on the spot.
- If the product cannot be repaired and the same or an equal product is not in the importer's stock, a better model may be given with depreciation and price adjustment.
- If the importer has no product for repair or replacement, the price may be refunded after deducting depreciation.
- Engineers Computer Lab is not responsible for software or data damaged or lost during use or during our service, nor for recovering data or reinstalling software. Always keep a backup of your data.
- There is no fixed time for returning a product taken under warranty. It is usually 5-7 days but can be 35-40 days or more, because most parts are not stocked in the country and have to be imported.
- Most warranty products are not repaired; the faulty part is replaced, and in most cases it has to be imported.
- Computer setup and the operating system customised at the time of sale are not covered by warranty.
- "Lifetime" warranty means for as long as the product is current in the market. Once the product is end of life (EOL) or a new version replaces it, the old version is no longer covered. Under BCS rules, lifetime warranty is given for at most 2 (two) years.
- We may charge for any service outside the warranty, only with your agreement.
- If a part has to be replaced or added during service, the customer provides it, or can get it through us by paying in advance.
- We are not responsible for problems that appear after free software or hardware tuning given by us, during or after the warranty period.
- A warranty claim for dead pixels on a monitor needs at least 3 visible dead pixels.
- The product box must be brought with the product for a warranty claim.
When the warranty does not apply (or applies with conditions)
- Faults from careless use: water damage, broken, burnt, impact damage or deep scratches.
- The serial number or serial sticker is partly or fully erased, removed or damaged.
- Fungus, rust, deep marks or scratches on a motherboard, graphics card or RAM.
- One or more broken, bent or deformed pins on a motherboard or processor.
- We do not set any password or security code at delivery, so a BIOS password on a laptop, desktop or other device is the customer's responsibility and is not covered.
- The original operating system of an Apple MacBook has been erased.
- Printer cartridges, toner, head, roller, drum, element cover, maintenance box and similar parts.
- A printer used with ink, ink cartridges or toner other than those specified by the manufacturer.
- For a keyboard-mouse combo, the whole combo set (with accessories) must be submitted even if only one part is faulty; the keyboard or mouse alone is not accepted.
- Power adapters of printers, scanners, routers, switches, access points, TV cards and similar products.
- If a product stays in the service department for more than 2 months after its warranty or service is done, the company is not responsible for it.
- If the warranty receive paper is lost, the product is handed back only against the purchase receipt and proper proof.
Beware of fake invoices
Some dishonest people or shops may copy a shop's invoice to sell fake products. Before buying our product (new or used) from anyone else, check its serial number on our Warranty Check page or call 01712898059. We are not responsible if you are cheated by buying with a fake invoice without verifying it.
If a technical error on the website shows a price that does not match the current market price or the maximum retail price, we may cancel that order, with or without informing the customer.
